Vetar is a novel, internationally patented device for wind energy utilization. It is characterized by two double contra-rotating rotors encased in a specially constructed housing duct. This unique blend of technologies gives it unparalleled advantages over any other conventional wind turbines today.
It is highlighted with 3 following major advances:
Vetar turbine works by tricking air into going faster and then using that acceleration to create energy in the most efficient way. It is determined by three basic features:
- Highly advanced aerodynamics
- Pressure game
- Highly efficient double rotors
In other words, the ducted part of the turbine is creating a ring-like area of high pressure around the turbine, leaving the area of lower pressure behind. This works as a funnel sucking air into the turbine. Having in mind that at low-speed air is incompressible, it accelerates.
This accelerated air is then used by two contra-rotating rotors, which additionally accelerate each other, making the turbine even more efficient.
How much more efficient? Up to 5 times compared to traditional HAWTs.
Compared to traditional wind turbine solutions VETAR wind turbine can make significantly larger energy output given for the same wind velocity and equal rotor sizes.
Due to double contra-rotating rotors, which cancel each other rotational forces, the Vetar wind turbine has much fewer vibrations than regular HAWT. This advantage combined with much less noise, thanks to its shrouded construction, makes our turbine much more suitable for urban applications as well.
All these advantages make Vetar wind turbine cheaper, more efficient, and more comfortable to use whether this may be in urban or large scale electricity generation facilities.
The urban wind turbine market is maybe one of the most underserved markets out there.
The biggest reason for this is the rural nature of regular wind turbines. In other words, these turbines are not designed for application in urban areas. To produce significant power output, in conditions of low and medium winds, traditional wind turbines need to have large rotors.
And large rotors require lots of space, not to mention safety concerns.
None of these is the issue with the Vetar wind turbine. It makes a lot of power and does so at medium and high winds. But most importantly it does not make a lot of noise and is much safer for the urban environment.
It can be mounted at lighting poles, building roofs, or even at the lawn in front of your house.
All these features make Vetar an ideal solution for urban power applications.
